Duprey Frustrated with Mithcell’s Plea Deal

Assemblywoman Janet Duprey (R, I – Peru) on Wednesday afternoon expressed her frustration with the plea deal cut for former upstate New York prison employee Joyce Mitchell. Mitchell pled guilty to helping two convicted murderers, Richard Matt and David Sweat, escape from prison in June. Duprey released the following statement:

“It does not seem to me that justice has been served with the plea agreement for Joyce Mitchell. The majority of public commentary shows outrage at this process that certainly appears to favor the criminal instead of serving the public good.
