Village Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Tupper Lake
Area police are searching for a man who
allegedly robbed the Hosley Avenue branch of Community Bank
in Tupper Lake at gunpoint.
Around noon Friday, a white man
described as approximately six feet tall and wearing a fake
mustache entered the bank with a silver handgun and demanded
money. Reports say the suspect ordered witnesses to lay on
the floor.

Environmental Groups Tighten
Budgets, Cut Personnel
Environmental groups in the Adirondacks have been tightening
their belts and, in some cases, laying off workers and
reducing programs as they deal with a struggling economy and
a drop-off in financial support. Despite the
challenges, some say the cuts, re-structuring and other
changes have actually made their organizations stronger.
