The Franklin County Public Health Services will be holding an immunization clinic on Wednesday, March 24th from 9am-10am at the Saranac Lake Public Health Office located at 3 Main Street (second floor) in Saranac Lake.  A guardian and immunization record must accompany all children under 18 years of age.  Please call 891-4471 ext. 3002 for more information or to make an appointment.  Walk-ins welcome.

 
Lake Placid

There is a free Lecture at the Lake Placid-Howard Johnsons. Join SUNY Potsdam professor Hadley Kruczek-Aaron for a presentation on March 24, at 7:00 PM discussing the excavation of Timbucto, the 19th-century African American farming settlement that was centered in North Elba. She will discuss how she set out to find the Timbucto farms and what she hopes to learn from the excavations conducted there. Her talk will report on what was found last summer during the first season of excavation at the original parcel owned by Timbucto grantee Lyman Epps and his family.

 
Saranac Lake

The Hospice Foundation of America’s 2010 teleconference will address care options related to cancer diagnoses as well as loss and grief reactions for patients, families and professional caregivers. It will also examine psychosocial aspects of cancer, pain management, and ethical issues related to the disease. The public is welcome.  CEU's are available. The conference is being held at the Adirondack Medical Center, Redfield Room Route 86, Saranac Lake, NY on March 24th from 1 to 4 P.M.
