A
26-year-old St. Lawrence County man will spend time in state prison
for killing another driver while driving drunk last March.
Robin
Fowler of Harrisville pleaded guilty Wednesday to vehicular
manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. The plea agreement calls
for him to serve a prison sentence of less than the maximum seven
years. He'll be sentenced on Jan. 19.
Fowler admitted that after a night of drinking at a Gouverneur bar
he crossed into oncoming traffic the night of March 18 and struck a
car driven by 18-year-old Jesse McEathron. Fowler's blood alcohol
level was .24 percent, three times the legal limit.
His
license was suspended in 2007 after a conviction on a driving while
ability impaired charge.
