Plattsburgh Man Facing New Charges in Infant Assault

A Plattsburgh man is facing additional charges for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend’s infant son.

26 year-old Anthony Ciccone was arrested in May of last year for seriously injuring the four month old boy, who suffered multiple fractures and had to be hospitalized.

He had been indicted for beating and trying to suffocate the child and was facing counts of first-degree assault, a felony and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

A new indictment was returned this week that included the original charges and added three new counts of second-degree assault, according to the Plattsburgh Press-Republican.

Ciccone appeared in Clinton County Court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges.  He claims the boy was injured accidentally.

Ciccone was sent back to the county jail on $15,000 cash bail and $30,000 bond.

A court conference is scheduled for March 27.
