Saranac Lake Village Police arrested 22-year-old Kasey Michael of Saranac Lake on Friday at 8 a.m. According to reports, he was taken into custody at his residence on an arrest warrant issued by Franklin County Court for failure to comply with a restitution order. Kasey was ordered on June 15, 2009 to make restitution after being convicted for fourth-degree criminal mischief. He allegedly failed to make the required restitution. Kasey was arraigned in village court before Justice Michael Kilroy; he was released to reappear on February 8.

The Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to an alarm activation on January 29 at 7:46 a.m. According to reports, one truck and 11 members arrived at the Tupper Lake High School, where volunteers checked the building and reset the alarm. In-service time was 7:55 a.m.

The Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor-vehicle accident on January 29 at 9:19 a.m. According to reports, one truck and 14 members arrived at the intersection of Hosley Avenue and Park Street, where crews conducted traffic control and assisted the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad with patient care. In-service time was 9:47 a.m.

The Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to reports of smoke on Friday at 12:45 a.m. According to reports, one truck and 16 members arrived at 2 Cliff Avenue, where volunteers established that a down-draft from a chimney caused the problem. In-service time was 1:18 a.m.

The Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department responded to an alarm activation on Saturday at 5:22 p.m. According to reports, one truck and eight members arrived at Room 209, Upper St. Regis Hall on the Paul Smith’s College campus, where it was established the alarm had most likely been triggered by cooking. No action was taken and no in-service time was indicated in the report.

Saranac Lake Village Police arrested 26-year-old Michael G. Tyler of Saranac Lake on Monday at 2:09 a.m. According to reports, patrol observed Tyler committing numerous traffic violations. A subsequent stop and field sobriety tests revealed he was intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content greater than .18 percent. He’s been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated; Tyler was processed and released to a third party to appear in village court tonight.

The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on Friday at 11:56 p.m. According to reports, one truck and 10 members arrived at 6034 Sentinel Road, where volunteers assisted the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service with patient care. The car’s driver was transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Lake Placid Village Police investigated the cause of the accident. In-service time was 12:36 a.m.

The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential fire alarm on Saturday at 7:04 a.m. According to reports, one truck and eight members arrived at 395 Averyville Lane, where it was established that smoke from the fireplace activated the alarm. No action was taken and crews returned to the station by 7:55 a.m.

The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential fire alarm on Saturday at 3:12 p.m. According to reports, one truck and 15 members arrived at 151 Victor Herbert Road where it was established that a smoke detector had malfunctioned. No action was taken; in-service time was 3:36 p.m.

Saranac Lake Village Police arrested 43-year-old Michael A. Hope of Saranac Lake on Saturday at 8:02 p.m. According to reports, Hope was observed committing several vehicle and traffic violations. After stopping his vehicle, officers established he was intoxicated; he was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 percent. Hope was processed and released to appear in village court tonight before Justice Michael Kilroy.
