High Peaks Hospice met and exceeded its fundraising goal
during Tuesday’s annual Radio Day Telethon.
The goal was to raise $35,000 to support the mission of High
Peaks Hospice. When the 14-hour
event, broadcast on local radio and TV stations, came to an end last night, just
over $37,700 in pledges had been received.
Tupper Lake generated $18,400 – including $7000 from the
students of LP Quinn Elementary School. $11,800
in pledges came from the Saranac Lake area and another $7400 from Lake Placid.
Betty White of Lake Placid was the winner of a 1987 Porsche,
which was raffled off at the end of the telethon.
This was the 13th annual High Peaks Hospice Radio Day.
