Outlines Plans for Follensby Purchase
The head of the Adirondack Chapter of the Nature Conservancy
fielded questions from the public Wednesday about the
conservation group’s recent purchase of the 14,000-acre
Follensby Pond tract in the Towns of Harrietstown and Tupper
Lake. Mike Carr said the property will be sold to the
state, but it may take several years, largely because the
conservancy is in the middle of a transaction involving
161,000 acres of former Finch Pruyn timber company lands.
