Brian E. Dukett, 53, of Tupper Lake, died unexpectedly, Monday
February 1, 2010 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac
Lake. Born on February 22, 1956 in Tupper Lake, he was the son
of Earl and Shirley (Desmarais) Dukett. Brian was a graduate of
Tupper High and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On July 11, 1981 he
married Therese Keniston. Brian was employed by the Adirondack
Medical center in Saranac Lake for over 25 years as a
respiratory therapy technician. He worked for North Country
Medical at the same time providing home oxygen to patients,
eventually leaving the hospital to become a clinical
specialist/sales representative for North Country Medical.
Brian was a dedicated member of the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad,
serving at different times as Chief, Team Captain and Night
Supervisor. He was proud to serve as a member of the Tupper
Lake Honor Guard. Throughout his life Brian was involved with
sports, from his CYO days, to the summers of the big softball
league, to men's league bowling and most recently men's
hockey. He played, coached or was a referee and umpire for
hockey, basketball, soccer and softball. He loved watching his
daughters, nieces and the rest of his Lady jack girls succeed
and progress throughout each soccer, basketball and softball
season. Although the girls were his first love, he was not
above watching his nephews play football and basketball. He
also enjoyed hunting, bowling and golfing with his son. Brian
is survived by his wife, Therese, his children Brian J. Dukett
of Watertown, Olivia and Paige Dukett of Tupper Lake, his mother
Shirley Dukett and his brother Scott and his wife Cynthia all of
Tupper Lake. He is also survived by 22 beloved nieces and
nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father Earl in 1995. Brian
connected with people whether his teammates, colleagues, fellow
volunteers or thousands of patients whose lives he touched in
his career and volunteer work with the rescue squad. Friends
may call at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home on Thursday,
February 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name
