Joan C. Villeneuve
Joan C. Villeneuve, 81, of Soucy Rd., Redford, passed away,  Friday, October 15, 2010 at her home.   Born on January 24, 1929 in New York City, she was the daughter of Edmund and Irene (Turner) McNulty.   Joan grew up in New York and attended Hunter College.  On January 21, 1950 she married George J. Villeneuve.  Together they made their home at 71 Broad St. in Tupper Lake.  George  passed away on October 17, 1965.  Joan was employed in Tupper Lake at the Medical Center.  In 1979 she became Postmaster in Redford and relocated there in 1980.  Joan retired in 1993.   While in Redford, she belonged to the Computer Club, Home Bureau Club and the Senior Citizens of Plattsburgh.  She is survived by four daughters; Irene Wood and her husband Rick of Colton, Patricia Villeneuve of Canandaigua, Denise Roberts and her companion Buck North of Tupper Lake, Geraldine Villeneuve of Rochester, six grandchildren, one sister Catherine Keenan of  Boynton Beach, FL.  Also Surviving is Joan's companion of 35 years Edward Bohin of Redford.  She was pre-deceased by her husband, one brother Edmond McNulty and one sister Irene McNulty.  The family will receive  freinds from 10 -11 a.m. on Monday, October 18 at St. Alphonsus church in Tupper Lake followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.  Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider, Hospice of the North Country or the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh.  Online condolences may be made at www.stuartfortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.

John C. Dewyea

John C. Dewyea, age 64, of 24 Sunset, Tupper Lake, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his home.

Born in Oahu, Hawaii on June 29, 1946, he was the son of John and Gertrude (Clark) Dewyea, Sr. He married Pauline Levesque on October 29, 1966 in Tupper Lake, NY.

Mr. Dewyea had been employed by the New York State Department of Corrections from 1980 to 2003 as a Corrections Officer, serving as the Fire Safety Officer at Adirondack Correctional Facility for the 13 years until his retirement in 2003.  Following his retirement he had worked as a Park Ranger at the Fish Creek Camp Grounds for 3 seasons.  He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1963 to 1965 as a Parachute Rigger.  Mr. Dewyea was a member of the Tupper Lake Moose Club, Potsdam Elks Club, past member of Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department Company 5,  member and past Commander of the Tupper Lake VFW and member of the American Legion.  Mr. Dewyea loved golfing and living in Florida 6 months of the year. He especially loved and immensely enjoyed his two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Pauline Dewyea of Tupper Lake, NY, his mother Gertrude Dewyea and mother in law Lucille Levesque of Tupper Lake , 3 children  John P. Dewyea of Vermontville, NY, Mark Dewyea of Tupper Lake, NY, and Darcy Turcotte and her husband David of Tupper Lake, NY, two granddaughters Morgan Marie and Kelsey Rose Dewyea both of Tupper Lake, NY, two sisters Ruthie Dewyea and Lisa (Mark) Reed of Tupper Lake, NY, six brothers Dave (Sidonna), Ricky, Jamie and Danny all of Tupper Lake, NY, Terry of Florida, Michael (Michelle) of Rocklin, California, his brother in law Gary (Linda) Levesque of Tupper Lake He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Also surviving is his beloved cat Tyrone.  He was preceded in death by his father John Dewyea, Sr and father in law Paul Levesque.

Calling hours will take place at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 21, 2010 at St. Alphonsus Church with Fr. Ray Moreau & Fr. Victor Lamore celebrating.  Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Gerald (Jerry) A. Desmarais

Gerald (Jerry) A. Desmarais 54, of 319 Park  St. ,Tupper Lake, NY passed away on Friday October 8, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born to Marguerite Couture and Theode Desmarais July, 9 1956 Graduated Tupper High Lake School 1974. Jerry leaves behind his wife Caroline Savard Desmarais , his two daughters, Rachel  (Desmarais) Gnann and her husband Jacob of Tupper Lake and Kellee Desmarais of Plattsburgh from his former marriage to Shari Lanthier Desmarais, a stepson Dillon Mitchell,  his father Theode Desmarais and step mother Charlotte, his four brothers and 3 sisters, Ronnie, Rachel, Terry, Mickey and his wife Sue, Keith and his wife Carla, Claire Brown  and her husband Ray, all of Tupper Lake and Joanna  Goldfarb and her husband Terry of Plattsburgh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and aunts and uncles.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Marguerite Couture.   After graduating High School he went into the family logging business.

Jerry played in the Band Hammerlok with family for many years.  He  traveled to Wyoming,  worked with his brother in law Richard Seafuse for several  years. Upon returning from Wyoming,  he  started his own Painting Contracting Business which he continued with until his illness.  Jerry  was an avid outdoorsman and  loved hunting and fishing, and spending time with his children. 

Jerry  started coaching CYO basketball and helped coached his daughters teams as well.  Calling hours are scheduled for  Friday October 15, 2010 from 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake.   A funeral service will be held  on Saturday at 11 AM at Holy Name Church in Tupper Lake, NY  

A reception will follow in the parish hall of the church.  Food donations can be brought to the Holy Name Church parish hall between 9a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

Camillo Vitullo
Camillo Vitullo died Friday October 1, 2010 at the Mooresown Estates in Moorestown, NJ. He was 85. Beloved husband for 62 years to Eleanor J. (nee Duquette). Loving father of Kathy Vitullo Ford (Joseph) of Cherry Hill,  NJ; Nick Vitullo (Patty) of Cherry Hill, NJ; Mary Vitullo Komerosky (Cork) of Englewood, FL and Michael Vitullo of Burlington Twp., NJ. Devoted grandfather of Amanda Cohen (Ben), Kelly, Lindsey, Andrew and great  grandson Brandon.

Born in Italy, Camillo came to this country at the age of 12 where he grew up in Saranac Lake, NY. Camillo served in the Navy in the South Pacific Theater on the USS Cook Inlet as a radio tech (radar), 2nd class. Upon graduation from Clarkson College he spent his career working for RCA as an electrical engineer. The last nine years of his career were spent on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands as site manager. Camillo was inducted  into the Saranac Lake High School Hall of Fame.

The family will receive friends on Friday October 8, 2010 from 10:45 AM to 11:45AM at St. Bernard's Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will  immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the church. Interment will take place at St.  Bernard's Cemetery, Saranac Lake, NY.
