Chamberlain - Ron Burke

Born and raised in Canton, NY, I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at SUNY Potsdam College. In 1992, my high school sweetheart, Tracey and I were  married. We have one daughter, Elizabeth, who is in the first grade at St. Bernard's. Together, we enjoy all that the Adirondacks offers from skiing and snowshoeing in the winter to camping and kayaking in the summer.

After five years of teaching mathematics in the Chazy Central Rural School District, I began my teaching career with the Saranac Lake Central School District in the Fall of 2000. Since our arrival in Saranac Lake, I have had many wonderful opportunities to work with the young people of our community. Currently I serve as the Curriculum Coordinator for 6-12 Math, Key Club Advisor, Sophomore Class co-Advisor and Varsity Baseball Coach. For the past three years, I have also worked as an adjunct instructor at North Country Community College.

In addition to my professional responsibilities, I value the opportunities that I have been given to serve this community through my membership on the St. Bernard's Education Council, as a coach for the Saranac Lake tee-ball program and as a member of the committee for the "Drop in a Bucket" campaign for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Rubbing elbows with highly motivated and enthusiastic volunteers has convinced me that the quality of life we enjoy in Saranac Lake is the direct result of their efforts. As we enjoy Winter Carnival 2006, keep in mind all of those volunteers behind the scenes from the Ice Castle Construction Crew to the organizers of the Kiddie Parade to the businesses who financially support so many of the Winter Carnival events!

Happy Winter Carnival!
