The sweet smell of success
Residents at the Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid have come up with the perfect recipe for giving back to the community.
Once a month, the recently created Fundraising Club will have a bake sale and all proceeds will be donated to various charitable causes. Last month, the money raised went to the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation. Most of the baked goods are prepared fresh by the residents and activities staff the day before the sale.
The most recent sale raised $74 with a strong turnout from residents, staff and their families.
“We had a great time putting it on, and I have been involved with the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation for many years,” saidMolly McCann, Activities Director for theUihleinLivingCenter. “This is for a great cause and the residents have so much fun, so it’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.”
The bake sale will be held on the last Friday of every month, and it is open to the public.
