Another introductory class to genealogy using Ancestry.com and other sources will be offered at the Lake Placid Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 13. The same workshop was held on July 30. It was so popular that not everyone who wished to take the class could be accommodated.

Paul Reese, who has taught workshops at the Sherman Free Library in Port Henry, will spend the first part of the class familiarizing participants with the software and the second part of the class helping individuals on their own searches. He will also demonstrate other useful genealogy sites.

The class is geared for those new to searching for ancestors, but people with more experience are also welcome. The class size will be limited to 10 people on a first come, first serve basis. Those wishing to bring their own laptops are welcome to, but the library will provide the use of computers to those who do not have them. There is no charge.

This class is for people who did not take the first class. Call 523.3200 to enroll.
