8th Annual Salute to Arts Day at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts –

Music, Animals, Face Painting and more!

The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is pleased to present the 8th Annual “Salute to Arts Day” on Wednesday, August 22 from 9am to 2pm. Artists of all media will be on premise to demonstrate and sell their art or craft. This one-day-only event is presented as part of the LPCA’s Green Market Wednesdays ~ Lake Placid Farmers’ Market!
The Lake Placid Farmers’ Market is a Producers-only Market (meaning they don’t buy in and re-sell their products), featuring fresh vegetables, fruit, organic cheese, meat, chicken and eggs home baked breads and goodies, flowers (both dried and fresh), plants, handmade jewelry, baskets, paintings and more! The Market is open every Wednesday from 9am to 1pm on the Center for the Arts grounds.
In addition to the weekly Market, join regional guest artisans and vendors as they present their wares for one day only. From paintings and pottery to crochet, silk and knitted items, photography to wood carvings, this day will feature something for everyone!
Throughout the morning a series of kids activities will take place. There will be a meet-n-greet of Adirondack farm animals, kids can have their faces painted, then get creative making chalk designs on the sidewalk and making awesome crafts projects! There will be live music, magic and fun throughout the day!

Heads Up and Call for Artists - The annual Adirondack Juried Art Show: A Showcase of Regional Artists, will be on display from September 14 through October 20. Artists are invited to drop-off up to two works on September 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 from 1pm to 5pm. A $20 non-refundable entry fee does apply. There will be an Opening Reception and Awards Presentation on September 14 from 5pm to 7pm.
The Juried Show is open to artists of all media including photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, fiber, ceramics, woodcrafts, jewelry, prints and constructions. Approximately $1,000 in cash and gift certificates will be awarded.
