The 3rd Annual Fire & Ice Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, February 16th from 12pm-4pm at The Tupper Lake Municipal Park.
You’re invited to make friends while wandering through the snowy park, sharing drinks, dressed like the abominable snowman and laughing over spectacularly bad shots!
Tournament includes: a 5 hole scramble, longest drive competition and a putting contest. With prizes for each category.
Bring the entire family! Kids are more than welcome to play and the spectator cost is free.

A regular Meting of the LPYAA will be held at the Olympic Training Center on Old Military Road.
Mission Statement:
1) The Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association exists to introduce, instruct and
promote sustained participation in sports to the youth in Lake Placid and
surrounding communities. They include (to date) soccer, hockey, basketball,
volleyball, baseball & softball.
Statements of Purpose:
1) To provide a safe and healthy environment for the youth in our community
to participate in a variety of sports.
2) To provide quality coaching which gives all participants the opportunity to
learn and play.
3) To promote, to the best of our ability, positive experiences for all children
participating in our programs by supporting a “kids first, winning second”
philosophy of competition.

If business comes up that does not make the deadline it is either automatically put on the agenda for the following meeting or must be approved for discussion by 3/4 of the members present at the current meeting.

The event will happen at the North Country Community College Pool in Saranac Lake, NY
For the benefit of local youth centers and to eradicate polio. The goal during the event is to set the Guiness Book of World Records for the most number of people swimming 100 meters non stop. Over 20 countries will be participating.
The effort will raise money from sponsors donating money to swimmers, individual team prices and team competitions are available. Students will receive community service credits for this effort. The Saranac Lake Rotary Foundation will distribute the funds and provide each donor of $25 or more with a tax receipt letter.

Whiteface Mtn. Masonic Lodge #789, in conjunction with the CVPH North Country Regional Blood Center, will be conducting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 3:00-6:00 pm. The site will be the Adult Center at 135 Broadway in Saranac Lake.
Blood shortage is critical at this time of year throughout the region. Blood donations are an easy and affordable way to contribute to the relief of the sick, the injured, and those affected by natural disasters.
You may donate if you are generally healthy, not currently sick, have a cold sore or other viral infections, have not donated for at least 8 weeks, weigh at least 110 pounds and are over 18 years of age. Drink plenty of liquids and eat a hearty meal at least four hours before donating. Also drink lots of water or liquids immediately after donating.
Saranac Lake Youth Baseball and Softball Signups begin tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Saranac Lake Civic Center – The season runs mid May through mid July and includes Tee Ball for the 5 to 6 year olds, a Rookie League for the 7 and 8 year olds plus Minor and Major Baseball for kids 9 to 12 and currently grades 3 through 8 for softball.. The Cost is $35 for one child, $60 for two, $90 for three and $25 for each additional child.. Signups are Tomorrow, Wednesday the 17th and again Wednesday April 24th from 5:30 to 7pm at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.

The Tupper Lake Marathon & Half Marathon-
May 19th, 2013
Since the inaugural race in 2011 the Tupper Lake Marathon and Half Marathon has been a huge hit. The race offers a 13.1 and 26.2 mine course throughout Tupper Lake offering stunning views along the way. The start and finish line are at the Tupper Lake municipal park on Demars Blvd in Tupper Lake. There will also be a kids run that will conclude the day’s festivities occurring around 2pm.
