The 3rd Annual Fire & Ice Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, February 16th from 12pm-4pm at The Tupper Lake Municipal Park.

You’re invited to make friends while wandering through the snowy park, sharing drinks, dressed like the abominable snowman and laughing over spectacularly bad shots!

Tournament includes: a 5 hole scramble, longest drive competition and a putting contest. With prizes for each category.

Bring the entire family! Kids are more than welcome to play and the spectator cost is free.

A regular Meting of the LPYAA will be held at the Olympic Training Center on Old Military Road.

Mission Statement:

1) The Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association exists to introduce, instruct and

promote sustained participation in sports to the youth in Lake Placid and

surrounding communities. They include (to date) soccer, hockey, basketball,

volleyball, baseball & softball.

Statements of Purpose:

1) To provide a safe and healthy environment for the youth in our community

to participate in a variety of sports.

2) To provide quality coaching which gives all participants the opportunity to

learn and play.

3) To promote, to the best of our ability, positive experiences for all children

participating in our programs by supporting a “kids first, winning second”

philosophy of competition.

Anyone who has business to bring before the membership must submit the nature of the business to the secretary for inclusion on the meeting agenda. This can be done by emailing Kim Clark. The deadline for agenda items is the second Thursday of each month. If business comes up that does not make the deadline it is either automatically put on the agenda for the following meeting or must be approved for discussion by 3/4 of the members present at the current meeting.

The Village of Saranac Lake will meet at 5:30 in the Village Offices on the 2nd floor of the Harrietstown Town Hall.

Saranac Lake Youth Baseball and Softball Signups begin tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Saranac Lake Civic Center – The season runs mid May through mid July and includes Tee Ball for the 5 to 6 year olds, a Rookie League for the 7 and 8 year olds plus Minor and Major Baseball for kids 9 to 12 and currently grades 3 through 8 for softball.. The Cost is $35 for one child, $60 for two, $90 for three and $25 for each additional child..   Signups are Tomorrow, Wednesday the 17^th and again Wednesday April 24^th from 5:30 to 7pm at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.

Coordinated by the Women’s Civic Chamber and The Village of Saranac Lake.

All courses are Free – new hunters / trappers must receive training before getting their first license. Students must attend all sessions.. #1 4/22 and then 4/24, 4/26 and 4/27 from 6pm to 9pm.

The Tupper Lake Committee working on plan for the new Emergency Services Building will be watching the polls today at the Goff Nelson Library. Voters will answer yes or no to the referendum which asks “Can the Village of Tupper Lake borrow up to $3.2 Million towards construction of a new emergency services building on Santa Clara Avenue. The  new facility would become home to Tupper Lake Police and Fire Departments while also providing accommodations for emergency communication when the need arises.  Residents will vote today from Noon until 9pm. Join us tomorrow for a report and commentary on the referendum from local officials.

The Job Fair will be held at the West Side Ballroom in Platsburgh – Co-Sponsored by the North Country Chamber of Commerce, OneWorksource, North Country Workforce Investment Board, JSEC and WPTZ-TV.

Local companies will have representatives on hand to accept resumes, give out applications, set up interviews and talk about career opportunities..
