Ticonderoga rejoins the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference schedule this fall after two years competing in eight-man football. The Sentinels return to Class D alongside longtime rival Moriah, with their annual conference showdown slated for Saturday, Oct. 18 at historic Linney Field.
Plattsburgh High and AuSable Valley also find themselves in new territory. The Hornets drop down to Class C after years in Class B, while the Patriots move up from Class D, joining Saranac and Saranac Lake in a competitive Class C field. Beekmantown and Peru remain as the only Class B programs and are guaranteed to meet twice — first in a league contest on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Beekmantown, and again in the Section VII Class B championship game. The seven-week regular season opens with non-conference play during Week 0, beginning Friday, Sept. 5. The Red Storm will christen the new Wilson-Raymond Field when they host Section X’s Massena in their home opener. The 2025 CVAC schedule features a balanced format: Each week will include two league games on Friday and two on Saturday.
Additionally, start times have been adjusted to earlier times than in previous years. Friday night games will now kick off at 7 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m., and Saturday afternoon games will begin at 1 p.m., a shift from the traditional 1:30 p.m. starts. Training camps across the North Country officially open Monday, Aug. 18.
