A 20-year-old woman had a baby girl last month, and for the girl's name, she wanted to pay tribute to her grandparents. So she named her "Harlotte."
The grandfather's name is Harvey, and the grandmother's name is Charlotte . . . and Harlotte was the woman's way of blending the names to honor them both.
Her cousin shared the story on the internet, and said that the woman had never heard the term "harlot." (Which IS a bit of an outdated word.)
The cousin said the woman wants to keep the name . . . but her husband disagrees, and is petitioning for it to be "changed for the child's welfare." It's unclear how that will play out.
