    The North Country Soccer League is back for a 52nd summer. The Clinton County Jr. Mariners picked up a 3-1 win over the CVBL's Eastern Eagles last night thanks to a two-run homer from Owen Rankin in the sixth. Inclement weather has postponed Airborne Speedway's mid-season championships.

    Section VII was well-represented at the NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Saranac led the way with five podium finishes, including runner-up performances in girls 4x800m relay, 200m dash, and 2,000m steeplechase. AuSable Valley, Lake Placid, and Peru also medaled. Lionel Messi made Men's World Cup history last night. Plus, regional MLB scoreboard.

    The CVAC has announced its end-of-year baseball awards. Saranac softball coach Sam Campbell is being inducted in the NYSSCOGS Hall of Fame.

 

About Steve Criss

Steve grew up right here in the North Country, graduating from Beekmantown High School ('84).  Steve has always had a dream of being on the radio and has broadcast live local sports for over half a decade!  Now, Steve doesn't have to stay in his own lane, and he's bringing Criss on Sports to NBZ-FM!

Steve, and his wife Nina, reside in Beekmantown with their three dogs, and are proud parents of two sons and two daughters.  Hunter, Ryan, Gretchen and Rachel are in their early twenties, and are enjoying strong starts in their respective careers!
