In 1948, Chief William Wallace of the Saranac Lake Village Police Department launched Santa's Jukebox, with the goal of ensuring all children could open presents under the tree on Christmas morning.
To honor the memory of Chief Wallace, and Chief Don Fina, Santa's Jukebox returned with Chief Darin Perrotte spearheading the effort. Upon returning in 2023, just shy of $2,000 was raised... and the gifts made their way to Holiday Helpers Franklin County, and were unwrapped Christmas morning by local children!
The forerunner to NBZ-FM has been involved with this wonderful initiative, back as far as 1956... however this wasn't known immediately known to us when the partnership between NBZ-FM and Saranac Lake PD was formed in 2024.
