Clinton County Offers Free Property Fraud Alerts

Clinton County property owners can now sign up for free alerts when a document matching their name is filed with the county clerk. The new PropertyCheck service sends notices by email or text. Clerk Brandi Lloyd says an alert does not necessarily mean fraud, but gives owners a chance to review unfamiliar filings. Residents can sign up through the county clerk’s website. Anyone who receives an alert about a document they don’t recognize can call the clerk’s office at 518-565-4710.
