The Ticonderoga Area Backpack Program has received a $500 grant through the Stewart’s Holiday Match program. The funding will help provide weekend food packs for children in seven North Country school districts, including Ticonderoga, Crown Point, and Schroon Lake. Program President John Bartlett says the effort now serves 290 children and distributes about 9,400 backpacks annually, providing the equivalent of nearly 66,000 meals each year.
