Montreal man gets 25 years for killing daughter

A Montreal man has been sentenced to 25 years to life for murdering his 9-year-old daughter last year while on vacation. Luciano Frattolin (Frat-o-leen) was convicted in August of killing Melina Frattolin near Ticonderoga and hiding her body. He also received a consecutive 1-to-3-year sentence for concealing a human corpse.
Saranac Lake pausing new short-term rentals

Weather sensors in Plattsburgh part of research project

Plattsburgh is joining the University at Buffalo and a state DEC project aimed at reducing extreme heat in communities. Small weather stations being installed starting tomorrow will collect temperature, humidity and wind data along Margaret, Court, South Catherine and Flynn streets. The information will help develop recommendations for cooler, more climate-resilient streets.
