Court Throws Out “Potentially Libelous” Taylor Swift Extortion Claims From Justin Baldoni

A federal judge cautioned Justin Baldoni's legal team over potential misuse of the court system to spread "unproven potentially libelous statements.” U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman struck down a letter from Baldoni's attorney that alleged extortion attempts by Blake Lively's lawyers against Taylor Swift, pressuring her for public support while threatening to release private texts. Liman warned Baldoni's team of "sanctions" if they continue abusing court filings. Lively's lawyers refuted the accusations as an attempt to tarnish her reputation through legal proceedings, and Swift has thus far shot down every attempt by Baldoni to drag her into the legal battle.
