Twenty percent of Americans in relationships believe their current partner is not their soulmate. The survey of 1,279 people in relationships found women slightly more likely than men to doubt their partner is "the one" (14% versus 11%). Millennials showed strongest belief in soulmate connections compared to other generations. Additionally, 16% said someone exists they would leave their current partner for if romantic interest was shown. Men were more likely to identify such a person at 19% versus 12% of women. Clinical Psychologist Adam Horvath from Personal Psychology explained: "It is not uncommon to think we could leave our partner for the new, exciting, mysterious other one, but it matters how we respond to these feelings."
