Half Of Young Adults Fake Wealth To Impress Dates, Survey Shows

A Credit One Bank survey of 1,000 young adults reveals 51% admit to lying about their wealth or financial success. Gen Z leads at 54%, compared to 48% of millennials. The study found 37% would overdraft accounts or go into debt to impress dates. Men show riskier behavior, with 46% willing to overdraft versus 28% of women. More than half say high credit scores make someone attractive. About 24% won't consider serious relationships unless partners have credit scores of 700 or above. One in five want dating apps to display credit scores upfront, though 55% call this too invasive. Despite financial posturing, 73% understand credit scores. About 48% would marry someone with poor financial history, while only 8% consider bad credit a marriage dealbreaker. (Story URL)
