New Research Confirms Strong Link Between Alcohol And Cancer Risk

Monday, December 15, 2025 at 7:01 PM

A comprehensive review of 62 studies shows alcohol consumption significantly raises cancer risk across multiple types. Researchers analyzed data from studies involving 80 to nearly 100 million participants. The study found elevated risks for breast, colon, liver, mouth, throat and GI cancers. Heavy drinking also reduced cancer survival odds. African Americans, genetically predisposed individuals, and people with obesity or diabetes faced heightened risks. Frequent drinking increased cancer risk among men, while occasional heavy drinking increased risk for women. The American Cancer Society recommends limiting intake to two drinks daily for men and one for women. (Story URL)
