A new study suggests that practicing yoga can significantly improve sleep quality for individuals struggling with insomnia. Analyzing data from 22 studies involving 1,350 participants, the research found that yoga, Tai Chi, and walking or jogging were more effective than other exercise types in enhancing sleep. Yoga participants experienced an average increase of 110 minutes of sleep per night, while Tai Chi practitioners gained about 52 minutes. Walking or jogging proved most effective at reducing insomnia severity scores. The study highlights the potential of exercise interventions as a low-cost and accessible treatment option for insomnia.
