Survey Shows Americans Prefer Cash Over Traditional Holiday Gifts

A survey of 5,000 Americans reveals that 58% want cash for the holidays, hoping for an average of just over $600. West Virginia leads at 69%, followed by Georgia at 68% preferring money gifts. Wearables and accessories ranked second at 29%, while essentials like bill payments came third at 21%. Americans plan to spend almost $1,120 on presents this year, with millennials averaging $1,369 and baby boomers $842. Most budget goes toward kids at 39% and partners at 24%. During the holiday season, 41% find themselves checking their bank account at least once a day, with 18% doing so multiple times and is especially true for those in Nevada (30%). (Story URL)
