According to a new McCormick survey, pumpkin spice remains the top seasonal flavor consumers look forward to most, surpassing cinnamon, peppermint and eggnog. The data reveals just how popular the flavor has become - 72% of respondents use pumpkin pie spice at least once a week, with 25% using it daily and 32% multiple times per week. Notably, 90% of pumpkin spice sales occur between August and December, underscoring its seasonal appeal. However, the survey found 66% of respondents also use pumpkin spice in savory dishes like pizza, pasta and meatloaf. Though the pumpkin spice craze may seem recent, McCormick's pumpkin pie spice blend has been available since 1934, suggesting generations of consumers have embraced the warm, cozy flavor.
