Workers Seek Career Exit At Age 53 Due To Job Dissatisfaction

British workers want to escape their careers at an average age of 53, according to new research of 2,000 employed adults. The study found 52 percent desire career changes, primarily due to burnout affecting 25 percent, poor work-life balance at 23 percent, and mental health concerns at 21 percent. Women show greater urgency, with 24 percent wanting out by age 50. More than one-fifth seek more active roles instead of screen-based work. Gen Z leads career-switching interest at 66 percent, followed by Millennials at 59 percent. Parents report priority shifts after having children, with 80 percent noting changed workplace needs.
