The Mayor of an Ontario town came to Northern NY for a fact finding tour.
The Mayor of Cornwall, Ontario, Justin Towndale, visited two North Country businesses operating near the Canadian border that have been impacted by declining cross-border traffic recently. Mayor Towndale visited the Malone Golf Course and met with board members and then visited Donovan’s Steak and Ale restaurant to meet with owner Donovan Reyome to learn more about the impact lower Canadian traffic has on small North Country businesses. Assemblyman Billy Jones, who joined Towndale, said fewer Canadian visitors will lead to businesses closing.
