Several former state prisons that lay dormant in the Adirondacks may be addressed this year.
In the State of the State address, Governor Hochul announced that she will be proposing a constitutional amendment to return former correctional facilities in the Adirondacks to productive uses. In response, Senator Dan Stec welcomed the Governor to an effort he has spearheaded for several years. The Senator said with prison reuse on her agenda this year, it seems the Governor is finally joining his longstanding effort to clean-up and reuse the abandoned state facilities.
