a 21-year-old citizen of India pled guilty to alien smuggling in federal court on Monday.
Five counts of alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit alien smuggling is what Aryan Deshwal admitted to in federal court on Monday. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s office Deshwal admitted that he picked up five people at the border who had just illegally entered the United States from Canada. Reportedly when Border Patrol attempted to pull over Deshwal, he sped away, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll several times and ultimately catch fire the press release said. At his sentencing this December Deshwal faces at least 5 to 15 years in prison the U.S. Attorney’s office reported.
