Over a hundred new employees will be needed at the local rail car plant to meet increased demand.
Alstom announced on Friday it will hire 120 manufacturing employees at its Plattsburgh rail car plant to meet increased demand. The company said in a press release that it is staffing up to produce 374 state-of-the-art commuter rail cars for NJ TRANSIT. Alstom’s Plattsburgh site will hold a job fair on Thursday at its facility on Wall Steet. The Plattsburgh plant has played an active role in the Adirondack region since 1995. Since then, over 4,000 cars have been built for the New York City subway; more than 1,000 for San Francisco; and hundreds of others for the Chicago and Maryland transit systems.
