Animal Cruelty Crimes Training

State Police Training to focus on responding to animal cruelty cases.

More than 200 troopers and investigators will receive advanced training on the best way to approach an animal cruelty crime according to a news release from the NY State Police. The training, led by experts from the NY State Animal Protection Federation, is designed to strengthen investigative capabilities and support proper responses to the offenses. State Police Superintendent, Steven James, said "Animal cruelty is not only deeply troubling on its own, but it is often connected to other serious crimes." James went on to say, "this training will help ensure our members have the tools and awareness to recognize and investigate these cases effectively."
