Essex County has reported another case of rabies has been confirmed by the state's Wadsworth Lab.
The eighth lab-confirmed case of rabies in Essex County was reported by the health department Wednesday. This time it was a raccoon in Ticonderoga. An Essex County Health Department investigation determined there were no human exposures. Public Health Director, Linda Beers, said “rabies remains a persistent public health concern that requires ongoing vigilance, as cases continue to emerge”.
