A North Country farm is on the short list for an environmental management award from the state.
An Essex County Farm is among four family farms that have been selected as finalists for New York’s Agricultural Environmental Management Leopold Conservation Award. The Ben Wever Farm in Willsboro joins farms in Columbia, Cayuga and Tompkins counties as finalists for the award. The Department of Agriculture says the award honors farmers who go above and beyond in their management of soil health, water quality and wildlife habitat on working land. The Winner Will be announced this Summer.
