Area Democrat Chairs have picked a candidate for the expected Assembly special election.
Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael Cashman has been selected as the Democratic nominee for the special election to replace Billy Jones in the State Assembly according to a press release from the three Democrat committee chairs involved with the decision. Supervisor Cashman will hold a press conference to outline the planks of his campaign. Meanwhile, Brent Davison, the retiring State Police Troop B Commander, will likely be the Republican candidate for the Assembly Seat. He received an endorsement from Jerika Manning, Chairwoman of the Clinton County Republican Committee, who holds 57% of the weighted vote among the three Republican Committee chairs who are voting.
