Battle of Plattsburgh events get underway on Wednesday and continue through the weekend.
The war of 1812 essentially ended with the Battle of Plattsburgh that occurred on September 11 in 1814. The annual Commemoration of the event starts on Wednesday with A free showing of "The Final Invasion" at Regal Champlain Centre. Thursday Memorial Ceremonies mark the 211th anniversary of the battle. On Friday, organizers of the Battle of Plattsburgh event will feature the “Rockets’ Red Glare” fireworks show. Saturday features the Battle of Plattsburgh Parade a. Sunday wraps up the commemoration with a Classic Car Show, Fire Engine Pull and other events.
