A ballistics test range expansion in the Adirondack Park has been proposed and the APA seeks comments.
A meeting to provide information on a proposed expansion of a ballistics testing range in Lewis was held at the Lewis Fire Station by a Herndon, VA consulting firm called Unconventional Concepts. According to a notice from the APA posted on Tuesday, the project involves a proposed weapons range for testing ballistics of cannon barrels. According to the proposal a Howitzer assembly would be fired up to 30 times a year on weekdays, between the hours of 10a and 4p. Public comment on the proposal is being accepted by the APA through October 30th.
