The lack of childcare options and funding for a state assistance program were addressed in Albany.
Local lawmakers, child-care providers and parents were in Albany to highlight a growing childcare problem in the North Country and NYS. According to Assembly Republican Leader Ed Ra Lack of Childcare options and funding are the two biggest issues. At a recent press conference at the state capital lawmakers and stakeholders called for a more stable funding structure for New York’s Child Care Assistance Program, such as the Assembly Republican “A Blueprint for Childcare (ABC) Plan,” which focuses on improving affordability, expanding access and supporting providers through targeted regulatory reforms and sustainable funding structures.
