Christmas tree farms represent a multi-million-dollar business in the state of New York.
New York ranks fourth in the nation in acres dedicated to growing Christmas trees sprawling across nearly 20,000 acres according to the Christmas Tree Farmers Association of New York. The Association also says NY ranks sixth in the nation in number of tree farms with over 875 operations statewide. The state department of agriculture reports that this sector has an estimated economic impact of $14 million dollars annually.
