Emergency Plan

NY State is operating under an emergency appropriations plan to keep running without a new budget.

On Tuesday, Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an emergency appropriations plan to keep the state government running without a new spending plan.  Reportedly, the state budget “extender” lasts through April 7.  Assemblymember Michael Cashman said the missed spending plan deadline is largely due to policy negotiations.  Cashman said budget delays are an unfortunate trend that the state has seen for decades.
