Assemblyman Matt Simpson is pushing for in-person public hearings in North Country on energy plan.
Assemblyman Simpson is calling on the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to schedule in-person public hearings in the North Country for the Draft State Energy Plan just as it has done for several downstate locations. A virtual hearing is set for September 30th but, Simpson noted, many North Country residents lack access to reliable broadband, making participation difficult. Assemblyman Simpson said “With no in-person hearings, residents are left without a real opportunity to weigh in on policies impacting their wallets and energy choices.
