NY Could do a better job of meeting "Farm to School" program objectives according to a state audit.
An audit by the State Comptroller’s office found that of the 762 School Food Authorities reviewed, only 73, or about 10%, were approved for reimbursement last year. The most common reason cited for the low approval rate was the administrative burdens of the program. In response to audit recommendations, Ag & Markets agreed with the findings and outlined steps it has taken to improve participation.
