The DEC has announced proposed changes to fishing regulations in waterbodies such as Lake Champlain.
The proposed changes to cool water sportfish regulations are intended to protect spawning fish, increase the reproductive capacity of fish, and eliminate unnecessary special regulations. DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton said the public is encouraged to review the proposal and provide feedback prior to implementation of changes.
