Flu cases are on the rise in the North Country according to the New York State Health Department.
The most current data from the health department shows 36 cases have been reported in Clinton County, 78 in Franklin County and 11 cases in Essex County. The Department of Health reports that most people who get sick with the flu will have mild cases and will recover in less than two weeks without medical care. Older adults, young children, and pregnant women are among the more likely to develop flu-related complications. Getting an annual flu shot, staying home while sick, and washing your hands often can help prevent the spread of the flu.
