Governor Hochul has been critical of Texas gerrymandering while planning to change political boundaries in NYS.
Governor Kathy Hochul is focused on re-drawing political boundaries in the state. This comes even though the last couple of attempts at redistricting in the State were unsuccessful, with courts throwing out maps that were passed by the legislature. North Country Assemblyman, Matt Simpson, said “I’m outraged by Gov. Hochul’s latest scheme to dismantle NY’s Independent Redistricting Commission.” Representative Elise Stefanik suggested Governor Hochul was a hypocrite as she is critical of Texas redistricting while she attempted to gerrymander NY districts the past two cycles and lost a fight over gerrymandered maps in court.
