An official announcement regarding the Family Gold Star plate is planned for Friday at noon in Albany. According to the Department of Motor Vehicles, the plate enables fathers, siblings and other family members to honor the service and sacrifice of their loved ones. The new “Family” plate joins the current Gold Star Mothers plate.
